Some local Chicago folks with yelp.com have organized a bake sale to benefit those devastated by the earthquake in Haiti. In a short amount of time, so many people and businesses have come together to help with the cause. Even though there are a lot of organizations and benefits going on everywhere, it warms my heart to be connected to this community and see a movement grow out of a simple idea and a few words.
The bake sale is on Saturday, January 23 at Medici on 57th (1327 E 57th St, Chicago, IL). If you’re in the area, please drop in and buy plenty of goodies. All proceeds are going to Doctors Without Borders and Oxfam. You may even luck out and see yours truly there with a contribution or two. For more information or for details on how you can help, follow this link: A Bake Sale for Haiti.
Can’t make it or a bake sale isn’t up your alley? Whatever you do, just do something. Just to name a few:
- Chicago Haiti Charities (via Huffingtonpost)
- Helping Haiti through Chicago (via the kyles files on Chicago Now)
- Click on the Red Cross link on this page
We now return you back to your regularly scheduled Project Mystery Candy.
